I am interested in the environment, people and the interaction of the two over space and time. My research includes examination of the spatiotemporal processes that link human population, climate change and variability, and land use/land cover dynamics using a variety of different geospatial techniques and datasets. I teach about our global environment and introduce students to some of the (very) cool geospatial tools that continue to become more prolific in applications of human-environment interaction.
My experience spans multiple continents with a concentration in Africa and my work integrates remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) tool sets as well as quantitative modeling to understand human-environment systems at multiple scales.
